The beginning of the book did not start as I expected but I liked the normality of the situation and the twist after the mystery phone call Ivy received.
There is plenty of situations left unanswered that we want to know more about such as why Ivys mum left her? Why did the man in the anorak try to attack Ivy? And what was the mysterious phone call about?
The book is written really well and makes it easy to picture the scene. It is easy to like Ivy and feel her indignation when she loses a job she loved without her side of the story being heard because of chauvinistic men.
I would buy this book as I would love to find out what happens in the rest of the novel. The start was much better than expected and had me hooked from the beginning. Having that sense of normality really makes the story seem more realistic with lots of suspense early on. Would read more from this author.
