I think the hidden message in this story is that by opening up and facing your fears, worries and anxieties you will become a lighter and brighter version of yourself. The darkness will fade into a moment and will look less frightening and scary. A problem shared is a problem halved is what they say isn’t?
Ivy was put into the care system from a very early age and has spent all of her life moving from one car home to another. Finally she has found out where her biological mum is living and decides to track her down. She brings her friend Tom along for moral support not knowing that what awaits her is more dangerous and haphazard than she would ever know. Not only does she find her mum but she also discovers the true Ivy that lies within herself.
A good read, was fast paced but could have done with a juicier storyline. Toms character lacked something I think.
