I’m a witch-o-holic. Any book involving witches or magic and I’m likely to devour it very quickly, which is true to Waking The Witch.

We follow main character Ivy and her journey searching for her birth mother. Strange shadows follow her along the way, before she finds home and ends up in the life she should have always had.

With nods towards Welsh mythology and Arthurian legend, this book is ideal for fans of fantasy or historical fiction alike.

Ivy is 17 years old, so whilst it’s definitely YA, it can still be enjoyed by those older due to it’s dark and spooky suspense held as an undertone throughout. There were places I was slightly uninterested and I skim read, but I think that is only due to my being a little older and struggling to connect back to the 17 year old mentality in certain situations.

A fantastic read for fans of Leigh Bardugo, Krystal Sutherland and Erin A. Craig.
