Its not a book I would probably have picked for myself but I was intrigued to see what happens to Ivy as she goes in search or her birth mother.
Having tried to track down her mother she receives a call from her telling her to take care and stay away. This intrigues Ivy, and having a strange encounter at work in the butterfly house and being sacked she decides to go to Bardsey Island to talk to her mother in person. Her friend from work gives her a lift to get the ferry and ends up going to the island with her as is worried about her going alone. Strange things keep happening to them and her mother who lives in a little cottage next to the lighthouse which casts a strange red light over them.
The story follows the legend of King Arthur and the witches who want Ivy to rejoin them and her mother's battle to save her. It was a little odd but I had to read to the end.
