I was completely immersed in Ivy’s life from the very first page. reading about the dangers awaiting her on the remote island. Strange things start to happen around her. She is soon pulled into a world she had no idea she was part of.
I especially enjoyed the darkness following her on the road trip which was sent chills up my spine. The atmosphere and location of the island was ideal for this creepy tale. A YA fantasy novel steeped in Welsh mythology with a nod towards Arthurian legend with a superb setting, it’s wild and desolate which is captured in the writing. The scenes are vivid and beautiful. A fabulous magical world which comes across in the writing. I really enjoyed the dynamics between our two main characters and the incorporation of myth and legend.
