When Vincent King is released from prison after serving a 30 year sentence for killing Sissy Radley, the small town that they both grew up in and the friends that they once knew are throw into turmoil.

Sissy’s older sibling Star, haunted by both the fate of her younger sister decades before, and the choices she’s made in life, struggles to deal with the release of the killer. Her strong teenage daughter Duchess, fights desperately for her mother’s wellbeing and to keep her family together despite their difficulties.

A very thought provoking read, examining how circumstances affect us as we weave our path through life, how we can be damaged by events beyond our control, and how our experience can impact those around us. Plenty of twists and turns to the story that keep the reader engaged - in my opinion, not exactly a thriller but an interesting take on crime fiction. I would certainly recommend this book to a friend.
