This book was recommended to me last summer by the owner of an independent book shop. As usual I couldn’t decide on which book to buy so he asked me what books I’d enjoyed reading recently and based on my answers he recommended me this wonderful book.
This isn’t a book that I would pick up based on the front cover alone. It’s quite dull and kind of blends in with everything else around it. The blurb interested me to a certain extent but it’s only once I started reading it that o discovered how fantastic it actually was.
The book tells us the story of a brother and sister who are brought up by a mother who is into drink and drugs. Subsequently the mother is murdered and the children go to live with their estranged grandfather. They are soon tracked down by someone from their mothers past and their newfound peace is soon thrown into the air. A real page turner.
