This book took me a while to get into but once I did I really enjoyed it. This book has SO many sad elements and yet so much of it amused me as well. It’s not an overly dramatic or fast paced book but so much happens across those pages that I just couldn’t put it down. I needed to see where the main characters ended up.

It’s not written in first person but we read this story from two character perspectives and there wasn’t a section I preferred - both absorb you in so you almost forget the other perspective exists.

I adored the relationship between Duchess and Robin. In fact, in some way I adored every relationship that Duchess had - she’s possibly one of my most favourite characters from any book ever 🤷🏽‍♀️

This book was so emotional in so many ways, I didn’t have any tears but I got a serious lump in my throat on a number of occasions! This book didn’t end how I wanted it to but I wasn’t disappointed by the ending at all - I cant explain that without major spoilers!

Also I’m convinced that Duchess Day Radley from this book and Ruth Langmore from Ozark are the same person 🤪
