Sadly this book wasn't really for me, there is nothing wrong with it and I think some people would really love this, I just found it very hard to get into, the story moves along at quite a slow pace and didn't feel like I could relate to the characters in any way.
The book is very well written and atmospheric, it takes you into a small town community in America. Vincent King has just been released from prison 30 years after he committed murder, not everyone is pleased to see him back. Duchess is the daughter of the sister of Vincent's ex girlfriend and the story follows her and her brother Robin who she looks after. It is a bit of a sad story about family and consequences.
