I’m very much undecided about this book. The blurb sounds so good and I thought it would be a good read but was only near the end that I started to like it more.
A mother Star was bringing up two children alone but not making a good job of it, her daughter, Duchess Day Radley,she calls herself an outlaw, often had to call for help as her mother was badly drunk. She also had the responsibility of looking her Robin, her younger brother. Duchess is often in some trouble over being rude to people but she really doesn’t care.
Vincent King was released after 30 years in prison, there hard been a traffic accident whereby Star’s sister Sissy was killed. Walk the local policeman went to the prison to pick him up, Walk was about the only person who believes it was an accident.
How will it all go though once he sees Star again?
There was an unexpected twist at the end which I really didn’t see coming, worth a try if you don’t mind reading through slow until you reach the good part
