This was such a fantastic book. I don't know what I was expecting but this far out did my expectations.
The characters in this book were amazing. Duchess is such an unlikeable character but it feels like her circumstances are what have made her this way. She is such a young girl but has had to grow up quickly and is very protective of her younger brother.
The ending was so shocking to me and actually has stayed with me ever since. This book has also made me look into the American penal system and now i'm going down a rabbit hole reading and researching about all of this!
I'm not going to spoil this book I think It's well worth the read. You won't regret it.
