This is a minimalist book, large 26 cms X 26 cms heavy weight gloss pages, 32 plus cover, and each page blue and white with mostly black illustrations. The story develops page on page about a penguin, each pair of pages adds a bit more to the story of the lats page. Children like this type of conundrum, which builds to a "aargh" crescendo. I'm sure that children will want to read this again and again. The text is black and large, and simple. The grammar is good (maybe a bit nit picking about "got lucky", but that is all) so this book will be of help to children who maybe do not have English as their native tongue, and will assist those will learn more from the repetitive nature of the story as it builds and grows from page to age. John Kane, the author, has a trail of successful children's books behind him, and this shows in the professional sequence of the story. First class!.
