This is a great book that my niece, who is just starting to recognise letters and learning to read for herself, has really enjoyed reading over and over. She is also a huge animal lover, so this was a perfect book for her as she could explore animals and birds beyond just the pages of the book and dive into the world beyond that which she already knows. It is also a great looking book, with the stark black and white of the penguin on the cover getting her attention, meaning that this is the book she will often choose at bedtime. A really child friendly book with an interesting storyline too, which engages children and leads to them questioning the use of colour and about the natural world and the world around us more generally. A really great addition to any child's home library and some wonderful illustrations inside. I'm sure this will be a family favourite for years to come.
