So I read what is black and white by John Kane to my nephew Kaiden. The book is easy to read and understand. The words are big and the pages don’t have much on them. The book follows Norman a penguin who shows you all the things he can do. Like swimming, being cool being able to use a skateboard and wearing a cap the cool way backwards. There isn’t much of a story here, I thought it was quite boring to be honest. My nephew seemed to enjoy it though he wanted to be like Norman swimming and skating. The illustrations were nice I thought. I think children would enjoy this book and it would be easy for them to read as there isn’t a lot of words on the pages and the words are big. The words repeat themselves with a different bit added at the end, this made it boring in my opinion it was annoying reading the same words all the time and I got bored half way through it.
