I can imagine the suspense building as this book is read out loud to a group of pre schoolers.
They will be trying to work out what Norman the penguin is going to be doing on the next page to match the additional description before they turn over. They will be imagining increasingly outrageous scenarios for Norman and dissolving into hysterical chuckles.
And then the surprising, incredible, denouement!
I’m sure they can think up other black and white things which could be flying through the air.
It is a long while since I had cause to read a book like this to young children - unfortunately.
The illustrations are colourful and delightful providing lots of things to point out and discuss.
I think this book, like the earlier John Kane books in the series, is going to be a favourite with lots of little boys and girls.
Perhaps a bit pricey at £7.99 though?"
