This book is a lot of fun. I have a three year old and he’s probably still a little too young to really get it but he enjoys it nonetheless.
The book is about a penguin named Norman and the reader has to guess what Norman is going to be up to on the next page - e.g. ‘what’s black and white and can’t fly and is warm’ and on the next page Norman will be in a scarf (that’s not exactly right but you catch my drift!). My son is able to guess what Norman might be wearing or doing to keep warm before we turn the page so it’s definitely a great read to spark his imagination. He’s asked to read it quite a few times so I think he enjoys it. There a punchline at the end that he doesn’t get but it doesn’t seem to impact his enjoyment and it’s nice that we’ll be able to enjoy the book for some years to come. We’ve also got ‘I Say Oh You Say No’ which he really enjoys so we will keep an eye out for this author’s books in the future.
