I am utterly intrigued as to why Helen, who has the perfect life and outstanding reputation within her close-knit community, has decided to spontaneously up sticks and leave her family behind. I think this cleverly and succinctly paves the way for the exploration of Helen's innermost thoughts and feelings as the reader comes to understand that while all appears perfect on the surface, no one truly knows what goes on behind closed doors.
