I was hooked on this book from the first page, The writing is fluid and each character gets their story across. At the beginning of the story the reader wonders why Helen who seems to have a good life with two children and a good husband does what she does and leaves it all behind.
The plot is good and thickens as the story progresses the reader discovers with each startling revelation that the perfect life that Helen has is a myth. From the moment that Helen is found and the police cannot divulge where she is, her husband Sam's life begins to unravel into a downward spiral.
It is not only the adults lives that are unraveling as Sam's children particularly Miranda who is eight and the devastating impact this has on her.
