I will be honest, I did get bit of a Gone Girl vibe with this book. I was pleasantly disappointed. Although she planned her disappearance and chose to leave she didn't try to frame her husband for anything. I wouldn't say that this is a thriller, it seems to be more of a broken hearted love story.

It is very well written. I love how the story i constantly being told from a different character, a different point of view. It helps you to understand how every one involved is feeling, not just one main character. It also means that Helen in able to explain her side. You can see how she planned her disappearance, why, when, how she actually put it all in to action. Sams' reaction to the whole thing and how he deals with his grief is somewhat moving, but you also find yourself starting to despise him a little as well.
