This book was such a promise to me and it looked like the kind of laughter I needed to get me through Covid19 's boring, gloomy, depressing days. While I enjoyed this fourth instalment of a stressed-out Mummy Ellen trying to deal with her almost feral teenage kids, Peter and Jane, job, homelife, ex-husband Simon's friends, and maybe a minor drinking problem?! The writing is very descriptive and I wonder if any of it could be based on the real-life of the author, as it reads a little like an autobiography in parts. In a lot of ways, it definitely resonated with me and made me remember some of the tragedies, triumphs and troubles that my two kids put me through growing up.

I didn't think their adolescent years had as much humour as their youth, but maybe that's because when they are adolescents, you can laugh it off more, but when they're adults, they answer back!
