This was a fabulous, heart warming and genuinely lovely end to this series! Throughout the whole “Why Mummy is” I’d waited for the main protagonist to feel happier and be a bit more confident in herself and this was the hook where it happened! As always, the friends of the main characters are so so funny and lifelike and the family life is just so realistic for normal, busy family life. Having read all the books, seeing the children grow and come back to their mum while flying the nest was beautifully done and so true to life. The worries and concerns of the mum were truly honest and realistic and the ending was actually pretty unpredictable and lovely. I’m really sad this will be the end of the series as it balanced the line between sappy and honest really well - a true gem, especially as the warm summer weather starts enticing us to read fun and lovely books.
