Having not read Gill's previous books in this series, I thought it might take me a little while to really get into this book. But, how wrong I was! Sitting down to read its well constructed diary entries was like sitting down with a glass of good wine; both of which went down very well indeed! The style of writing Gill uses to retell key events in her life with teenage children included great detail with just the right amount of humour. I could relate to her 'trials and tribulations', appreciating the funny side to these experiences (now that my own children are fully grown and flown!).

I would recommend this book particularly to mothers who have lived through those teenage years, and survived. As when you're still in the thick of it all, I think it can be challenging to appreciate that there is a funny side!

My only criticism was that, in my opinion, there was an excessive use of bad language. But, as everything else in the book was entertaining, I was able to ignore this.
