I absolutely love chick lit and read a lot of it and this didn't disappoint.
One of the best books I have read in a while.
"Mummy" is Ellen, late forties, her husband is out of the picture (though not divorced) and she is left at home With their two teens, Jane and Peter.
Harassed, bullying the kids through their exams and trying to deal with the stresses and dramas in her own life and also her friend with the child that is a reproduction of Chucky she has her work cut out for her.
Not to mention the fact she is secretly plotting to jump her new neighbour, the local archaeologist's bones!
Frustrated, wired and totally manic this is a totally real account of a woman (and mother) on the edge, barely holding on by her fingertips.
As a mother myself I can relate to so many of the descriptions and scenarios that I found myself literally laughing out loud at something on every page.
Never having read any of this series before after researching I definitely have to get the rest of these as I want to see what else "mummy" gets upto, in between getting sloshed!
A brilliant addition to the chick lit / women's fiction genre.
