I have long been a fan of Mummy and her precious moppets. Gill Sims perfectly captures the amusing idiosyncrasies of family life with warmth and humour.
I thoroughly enjoyed the previous books in the series and Mummy rants on social media. I was really looking forward to this and love the colour of the cover. However, I have really struggled with it. It almost felt forced at times with some of Ellen's frustrations coming across perhaps more harshly than intended. The character of Mark irritated me and really served little or no purpose. There were some highlights. Edward, the toddler from hell, being one! I don't know if it was because Jane and Peter are older and so by definition are less interactive. I do think it ended the right way, but felt that there were lost opportunities along the way.
Over, a good light read but not as good as the earlier ones.
