Funny
This is the fourth book in the ‘Why Mummy...’ series and Gill Sims still has us laughing.
Ellen is now trying to deal with two teenagers and and ex-husband as they go through a-levels GCSE’s and driving tests..
After finding the first book in this series hilarious, I didn’t enjoy the next two quite as much but this one had me in stitches again. I was also very glad she toned down her use of ‘elecenty billion times’ for this one.
When Ellen was looking after Edward I couldn’t stop laughing. It’s not often a book actually makes me laugh out loud, but I was laughing the whole way through this.
There was a somewhat predictable ending to this book, but I think it worked well. It’s not the sort of book to give you twists and turns, nor would you want them. So a nice heartwarming ending was what I think we all wanted and needed from Sims.
I’m not a parent and luckily that doesn’t take away any of the humour from this book.
