I have seen these books around for the past few years and as a big fan of The Unmumsy Mum, I thought they were just like that and would be too similar so havent ever got round to reading any of them.
So when I started reading this and realised it isnt a Gill Sims diary but an actual novel I was surprised! But omg from the first few pages i was laughing out loud! I absolutely LOVE Ellen and her description of life had me in Stitches, especially as a mother of 2 young children, the way she talks is totally me!
Her relationship with Simon is lovely and heart warming, despite the fact they are separated and when I was reading it I couldn't believe this was my first one of these books!
When she looks after Edward, she had me in absolute stitches and it's been a long time since a book literally made me laugh out loud.
It is brilliant, hilarious and down to earth and I have now downloaded all the other books in the series to start Ellen's journey from the beginning, I am actually embarrassed that I havent read these before!!
Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a good laugh and anyone who has kids as we all know how tough life with them is and it's so refreshing to read things and know it's not just you!!
