I'd like to start off this review by thanking the team at Readersfirst and Harper Collins UK for sending me a copy of the book to read and review. I loved every moment of this.

The 'Why Mummy's' series by Gill Sims has become a staple in my bookshelf. I read the first one a few years ago and have only missed number three. I have always enjoyed how hilariously realistic they are, and how much of an easy-read they are for someone whose not even a mum to enjoy. Gill's character, Ellen, is full of mumism's that my own mum says to me. Tying that with the modern-day struggles Ellen is faced with, and each book just becomes dearer and dearer to my heart.

Why Mummy's Sloshed was a welcome addition to the series. Though I missed out on reading number three (I must remember to pick that up, soon!), Gill's writing made it easy to follow along with any events that may have been missed in previous installments.

The characters were as always, witty, likeable and surprising while the plot remained realistic and extremely tender.

I'd recommend this book, and series, to anyone who enjoys a little bit of humour mixed with chick-lit, but I'd especially recommend it to any mum out there. Even as a 23-year-old childless reader, it was a joy to read!
