It’s like having had someone follow you around and record your life with your teenage offspring and then also having the ability to read your inner thoughts. I adored the gentle sarcasm that lace itself around the happenings and the consistent thoughts, that are written in exactly the manner our thoughts behave, sporadically and unrelenting in their weaving from spiders to flies. As we progress through Jane passing her driving test and the typical attitude of a teenage girl, instantly wanting the next thing rather than enjoying the moment. Marrisa is depicted as we depict all step parents to our children and the element of envy is glimpsed occasionally through the constant Criticism of marrisa as being annoyingly nice all the time. Funny and relatable throughout and just has you as a reader, relaxing into the whole thing, just like you were 9n a night out with friends, sharing drinks and confessions. Fun threefold.
