I haven't read the other books by Gill Sims but this one looked fun and relatable to parent life.

This felt like a very modern perspective of teenage parenting. Life is one big scenario of 'winning' wherever possible with family, work and whatever your children currently want from you. The main character definitely feels 'put upon' and taken for granted by everyone. There is a lot of rambling and repetition of her feelings, inner thoughts and shouting/outrage. I'm sure it's very true for anyone parenting teenagers but it doesn't seem like the mother enjoys her life very much. It's all a bit too ironic and out there for me to read in more than short sections. I felt as though I was being sucked into her monologue and it was a bit posh.

I didn't hate it but I did struggle to read this book, I will pass it on to a friend with/post teenage children.
