With all the insanity that has been going on this year it is lovely to have the release of a new Gill Sims book for a little bit of light relief and a good giggle. The 'Why Mummy' books are never going to win any prizes for high brow literature but they are reassuring and comforting just like a warm mug of tea wrapped in a cozy blanket in front of the fire because you know what you are going to get. Some amusing and entertaining observations on the challenges of modern life and parenthood mixed along with a light hearted story which tests the limits of your disbelief and perhaps is largely predictable but in a pleasing manner such that you don't mind at all. This is a good book for a gift for a friend who might need a bit of a laugh or a good stocking filler.
