I haven’t read any of Louise Pentland’s books before but was attracted by the quotes on the back of the book and the synopsis on the cover.
It is an easy, satisfying read, quickly gobbled and leaves one feeling content. Robin Wilde is a believable character who needs her friends to support her through the mental and physical challenges which her job and her long distance relationship create.
The plot involves the development and complications of friendship and tackles loss and grief, but never in a way which upsets and the reader always feels hope. There are some amusing incidents, especially when her daughter is forthright and rather cringeworthy and these are welcome moments of comedy and enhance the story.
A satisfyingly happy ending and I feel as though I might know what the next Robin Wilde book might be about.
I’ll look forward to knowing if I am right!...
