I didn’t read this as part of the series, just on it’s own after it was recommended to me by a friend. Honestly I’d never heard of Louise Pentland, but now I’m planning on buying more of her books.
It was a great comfort, easy read that I could easily go back to again. Pentland writes relatable characters that you root for from the start. She writes about difficult topics, which she writes about amazingly, not doing any injustice to them. A book about being a single parent embracing every day challenges with balancing family, childcare and work responsibilities without making you feel like you should be doing more.
I’m glad Wilde about The Girl was recommended to me as I’m not sure I’d have picked it up without the prompt, but I’m so glad I did. I was after an easy but good read and that is exactly what I got. I’m looking forward to discovering more more Pentland’s writing.
