Robin Wilde is a funny relatable main character who struggles with some mental health issues. I think this will be a great read for any parents who feel like they are failing at raising their kids the "right way" as Louise does a good job of showing that most people feel this way at some point in their life. The background characters are well developed and all felt like they had their own personalities.

As this is Louise's debut novel there are some flaws in the writing style which I think will be addressed with time and experience. I found it a little hard to follow the story at points as there were big chunks of some paragraphs in brackets which was supposed to add some humorous comments but instead made sentences feel disjointed. I feel like there was a large chunk of the middle of the book that could have been covered in far fewer words and therefore help the flow of the overall plot.

Overall I think this is a great debut novel for Louise and I do intend to pick up the second book in the Robin Wilde series to see how Louise's writing improves with some experience.
