I enjoyed this book, but honestly not as much as I was anticipating.

It was an enjoyable and light read on a topic I think would be relatable to many mothers. Not being a mother myself meant that I didn't relate as much to the plot of losing yourself to motherhood and finding yourself once again.

However, that doesn't mean I didn't feel for the characters. Little Lyla was adorable and the best character in my opinion, she made the book. There is a character who I just disliked from the moment of meeting them, and I was right to do so. I did find Robin to be a bit hard to warm up to, her self-pity started to grate. I wish the book had been more about her realising her true worth and not needing "a man to fix her" and rid her of The Emptiness. She could have been so much more empowering.

I think this was a good book to start the series, a strong base on which to continue building the characters and story and I look forward to finding out the future for Robin Wilde.
