This book is warm and wonderfully indulgent. It’s a fantastic introduction to Robin Wilde and her gang. Louise Pentland has a way of writing her characters so they feel like old friends right from the outset, she draws you in and makes you feel part of the story, one of the family almost.
Lacey, Auntie Kath and Lyla all add another dimension to the story and are wonderful supporting characters in their own right.
This book is the first in the Wilde trilogy and creates a wonderful foundation for the other two books. The storyline is great and develops well throughout the novel. As you would expect with a trilogy there is plenty of scope left at the end of the book for many more tales to be told going forward.
I really enjoy Louise Pentland’s writing style and the way she develops her characters. I’d happily read more of her work in the future.
