I have to say first of all that I love Louise Pentland and have followed her on social media for many years. I really wanted to love her debut novel too but I didn't. I liked it, it was fine but it wasn't amazing.
I think the main character Robin Wilde comes across as wallowing in her own self pity a lot of the time rather than truly expressing what was evidently post natal depression, anxiety and loneliness.
It's definitely not a romance book. More of a contemporary women's fiction. Although at times Robin appears quite keen for male attention, it's her female friends and family members that are actually there when she needs them as her support network.
I will most likely read the other two novels in the trilogy at some point since I own them but I'm not in a rush to pick them up. I will be keen to see if the repetitiveness of the storyline continues during the other to books or if there is plot and character growth.
Overall I much preferred Louise's Non-Fiction Mumlife.
