I enjoyed this book and its positive message about finding your own strength. It's about a single mother, Robin Wilde, who has a 6 year old daughter, Lyla, and works part-time as a make-up artist. She experiences what she calls The Emptiness, a kind of grey cloud she can't escape from which makes it difficult for her to make new friends or be motivated. She is lonely and wishes she was in a relationship. We follow Robin through the year where she decides to make changes in her life. There are some great characters, each with their own story - her best friend, desperately hoping for a baby and her beloved aunt, coping after the death of her husband. There is a lot of humour as well as she deals with the yummy mummies at the school gate. With many exciting opportunities for Robin you can't help rooting for her as she finds that self-belief makes all the difference.
