The carefully constructed world of Robin Wilde is as chaotic as you can imagine with a smart but adorable six-year-old. Trying to juggle the judgy mums of her daughter's posh school as well as her job as a make-up assistant, Robin is mostly definitely 'just getting by'. It seems the simple things make her happy, and she doesn't need everything to be perfect. Arguably, Robin is likeable but not entirely engaging. At this moment I don't really care about her future or her past- I like her and her cute kid but I'm not heavily invested in her story. Maybe with a few more pages, I'd be ready to read more about her story but otherwise, it was simply okay. The book so far is written extremely well however and isn't overly detailed. While engaging it's not intriguing just yet. Hopefully in the coming pages.
