This is a book you'd expect to be classic women's fiction but then 'Wilde Like Me' surprises you. Robin Wilde is a single working mum who tries to balance it all whilst providing herself and her daughter a happy life. The novel is witty, lovable and has a wonderful personality that comes with the writing style.
I appreciate the narrative structure presented in this sample because the return to the past that takes place after the prologue. It drew me in making me, surprisingly, interested in a book I did not expect to like. As this style of the novel is not my usual choice, however, Lousie Pentland's humorous and characterful writing has won me over.
