I thought this was overall an OK read but I'm not going to be reaching for the next book in the series any time soon.

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the writing style and struggled to get into it at first as not much was happening with the plot. But I then managed to read 200+ pages in one day.

The writing style is quite basic, with regular use of 'ha!' and lots of brackets, which often went off on a tangent so I felt the original sentence was lost.

I found the main character Robin frustrating, she was so focused on her own issues and it took the whole book for her to realise everyone else has their own problems going on too. She regularly compared herself to all the women before she knew them properly and assuming their lives were perfect. She felt quite judgemental for someone who was so worried about being seen as a bad mum/woman.

I don't think characters have to be likeable but for a lot of the book I just didn't have much interest in what was happening to her. Parts of the book also felt repetitive.

I didn't find a lot of the conversations believable, including her daughter who said things I didn't think a child would say.
