A simple tale about a year in the life of a single mum with a part time job as a make up artist's assistant.
I didn't think it would be quite my thing as i couldn't really identify with Robin Wilde's situation but I loved it.
Robin's relationships with her best friend, her eccentric aunt, her daughter's father and his girlfriend, the other school mums were all true to life and very humorous. Robin was feeling lonely and depressed with her situation but her attempts to find romance and become more confident in her work life were honest and very funny. Her relationship with her 6 year old daughter, Lyla, was warm and endearing.
Perhaps not a great work of literature but an enjoyable read nevertheless.
