The novel combines cartoon style illustrations with first person narration in order to provide an honest depiction of cancer treatment. The novel is set from the perspective of an eight grader, but the writing and comedic style of the novel means that it can be marketed to a much wider audience. The main character is instantly likable, and you feel eager to know more about how his treatment progresses, and the effect that this has on him, his family and friends.
