I was surprised how much I enjoyed the beginning of this book. A first-hand account of a child with cancer is not a book I'd expect to engage me. Yes, there is poignancy but the narrator is determined to not let the illness or the treatments define him. The bright grafitti style of the cover is a great match to this courage and lack of self-pity.
