The book follows the story of Ross who is diagnosed with cancer. I liked that the character is so relatable- it feels like we are really inside his head.

We follow his journey from initial appointment where him and his dad are immediately called back to the hospital with concerns. The book covers how he
deals with it, his friends and his family.

The front cover I think is appealing to older kids/ young adults, and the book is quite novel in that every few pages are interspersed with well drawn cartoons.

A clever narrative which covers a really tricky topic. The author bases the book on his own experiences of cancer in 2006 as an adult.

I’ll be passing this one on to my young niece who I think will love it!
