I really enjoyed reading this book. A fictional story based on the author‘s own real life experience of surviving a rare cancer just above his right eye. The author was diagnosed with this rare cancer as an adult but the main character in the book, Ross is a secondary school kid. The book handles a difficult subject matter with integrity and humour as a means of supporting young people through extraordinary and real hardships in life, or indeed anyone affected by cancer. The illustrations throughout the book help to enrich the coping strategies of the main protagonist through humour. An insightful and easy read outlining the impact of cancer from diagnosis to prognosis and treatment right through to recovery, it’s suitable for all ages.
