The author of this book Rob Harrell was diagnosed with eye cancer in 2005. he tells us this story of Ross (who is a young boy) is based on his own experiences.
He was 37 and living in Austin at the time and found it very hard to cope with a mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the lacrimal gland.
He has managed to write a fictional story about Ross complete with comic strips packed with humor.. He tells us it was humor that helped him through this difficult time.
I found the book to be very interesting but really struggled to get on with the way it was written because of the American way with words, expressions and simply the way it was written.
Had it been an English version I would have found it excellent and not struggled to read it.. This is not the authors fault but mine.
