I really enjoyed this book, even though it is aimed at the young adult market. Having read a first taste from readers first I expected a great book, but it is better than I imagined it would be. This book, about a boy with a rare form of eye cancer, is heartwarming and heartbreaking. By turns you will cry, laugh and be awe struck by the boy’s bravery.
Telling the story of his journey through proton therapy, his story is inspiring, and should be a must read for youngsters who are suffering or may know someone suffering from cancer.
Written in a straightforward language, with characters that are totally believable, it is a book that most reading abilities will be able to manage, and understand.
I urge everyone with youngsters to buy a copy of this book and read it with them, and discuss what is often a very difficult subject.
