Beautiful cover and page designs, with the food theme! I also love the inclusion of recipes - very original, and I also enjoyed how instead of servings there's a reason for cooking eg "for when you are missing someone you love." I'm also here for the Moana reference, Emma has good taste. Love to see own voices Latinx rep as well, with Spanish included untranslated and loads of cultural references, as well as the issues faced by Latinx people which is why Emoni names her daughter Emma to try to avoid discrimination, a really important issue currently. I also love that there's LGBTQ+ rep, with an f/f relationship in the book. It's also nice to see young mothers given a space in YA, since that's something we rarely see. Additionally, I'm just obsessed with 'Buela and the warm family feel. Really want to keep reading now!
