How in the world have I not already bought the heck out of this book?!?!?!?!? It sounds amazing!
I adore the fact that the main character is a teen mum and it's trying to get rid of the stigma surrounding girls like Emoni. I love the fact she's black and embraces her culture through her passion and love for cooking. Everyone knows we need more POC in fiction but we also need more like Emoni, who seems to me to be someone to admire.
It is fair to say that I would spend all my money on this book so I can finish reading it. Plus that cover! Even if the content wasn't amazing, I would buy this just for the cover! The purple, the fruit and plants, the art, her hair! I love it all! 😍❤
