I loved the narrator of this story immediately - I could really feel her love of both food and her daughter. The author did very well at introducing and fleshing out the personalities of important characters quite quickly and in an engaging way.
I am always interested in reading about BAME characters and I am Keen to see more of them in Teen fiction. I liked the way the author gave us a natural look at the character and her life at the moment without including too much boring and unnecessary exposition. I am extremely excited to read it all and find out what happens next.
